Next 1.7.9 wp_w3all plugin: additions, requests, bugs to resolve

Post by axew3 »

This post to start the (small!) draft about next 1.7.9 WP_w3all phpBB WordPress plugin.

If any request, discovered bug to resolve, or suggestion, please reply it here!

1.7.9 check list:

1) When plugin update, any template customization done into views folder files is lost when plugin update.
A working solution for any situation, without lost lot of time on find out the way to achieve it, has not been found.
But since these files never change there structure, and contain ever same data from long time, it is maybe better to implement an easy solution that will work fine on any situation: as option, will be possible to move these needed files, into the custom wp-content/plugins/wp-w3all-config folder. So any customization done to fit the theme into these files, will not be lost on plugin update.
This will be option to activate or not.

FEATURES
2) Link phpBB to display data on WP (last topics widget and shortcodes) without linking users between phpBB/WP.
3) phpBB WP users fast check (and something more, but in the first version maybe will be only this feature): a WP_w3all config help page, where a check about users emails can be done in one click.
Another help on same page, could be about profile fields and how to correctly setup, if there are problems about fields ... thinking on it if possible, with an easy and effective solution ...

BUG
4) phpBB users added in WP, aren't added with proper phpBB role, but ever as subscribers in WP.
As explained on install procedure, they should be added with proper role, if a valid phpBB default group is found. This will be fixed on 1.7.9, but in the while there is a (not definitive, on fly) patch available:
REMOVED
