w3all phpbb plug "absolute path" issues

Post by Fox »

Hi all,

I'm very new to setting up my own self-hosted website. I've struggled and struggled and every step I take is grueling and painful. I've gone through half a bottle of Excedrin Migraine and have managed to get as far as working on the website itself.

Right now I'm trying to do my forums. I had my forums hosted by phpBB3 for a while and instead of moving them, I'm going to start them from scratch.
I got PHPBB installed, MySQL is working, there are no problems with that for now. At the moment I'm trying to follow all the instructions to just get the forums working with the embedded page (e.g. www.mydomain.com/forums) and I can't seem to get the settings to accept the absolute path to the wp-content/plugins/wp-w3all-config/config.php

I pasted over the database info, commented out the last line, I edited the overall_footer.html, but when I put the path into the w3all settings and click the button I still get the WARNING at the top and nothing is in embedded.

I have been following forum post after forum post after website after stackoverflow after page after forum post on this matter and I'm at my wits end.

Someone help before I go on a rampage.

assuming you have read the topic about, and the path is the right one to the folder
your/absoultePath/wp-content/plugins/wp-w3all-config
i experience right now, so i will check better as soon, that if i click to save path, i have to click two time when i change it, even if it is correct. Can you try out to click two times when you save it (incredible if true and to be patch as soon):
Path how to

The file wp_w3all.php of latest 1.5.9 have been just patched to resolve this issue.
In some circumstances, the path was resulting as not correctly set, even if it was correct, until page refresh.
Fixed.
